iOS & Android · Version 0.1.0
Your practice. Your choice.
Effective 28 October 2026. Wardwise is provided by BAYAN AI TECHNOLOGIES LLC, with support through MedResearch Academy. This policy describes the native iOS and Android apps, including optional cloud transcription and adaptive conversations. Earlier iOS builds record locally without these cloud features. The separate experimental web voice pilot has different data flows and is not included in this native release.
What the app stores
Your optional preferred name, confirmed response text, draft, saved phrases and practice history are stored in the app’s local notebook on your device. We do not operate an account or a cloud notebook service for this version and do not receive these notebook contents.
Microphone and speech
Recording is optional. Microphone permission is requested when you choose Record. Temporary recordings stay on your device unless you explicitly choose cloud transcription. The app attempts to delete temporary recordings when you leave the session; an interruption or crash may leave cached files until the operating system clears them or you remove the app.
In the private voice beta, enter your private access code in Settings, then choose Transcribe my recording. Before any upload, a separate confirmation explains that your recording will be sent securely through MedResearch Academy to OpenAI for speech-to-text processing. Consent applies to further recordings in that practice session. Cancel an upload or leave the session to stop automatic transcription. You can always type instead.
MedResearch Academy processes audio in memory for the request and does not intentionally store recordings or transcripts in a database, file or application log. OpenAI processes audio through its transcription API; its current documentation lists no training use and no audio-transcription endpoint retention. See OpenAI API data controls. Requests may be processed outside your country. Hosting and security providers may process technical request metadata such as IP address and access time; never include patient information.
Returned text is editable and is stored locally only when you use it in your notebook. Transcription can make mistakes: check your words before continuing. The app does not assess pronunciation. Scripted partner audio is AI-generated and bundled with the app; listening does not upload learner audio.
Optional adaptive AI conversations
Current native builds offer an adaptive AI partner as a separate opt-in from transcription. After you enable it, pressing Send my words to partner sends your confirmed response text and the prior dialogue in that case through MedResearch Academy to OpenAI. The service uses the supplied fictional case facts to generate a reply, spoken AI audio and its text. It does not continuously listen to your microphone. Review and edit transcriptions before sending. You can keep using offline guided dialogue instead.
Academy does not intentionally persist conversation text or generated audio in application logs or a database. Replies and confirmed answers can be saved in your local notebook; generated audio is temporary and is not retained when you leave the session. OpenAI’s standard API abuse-monitoring settings may retain AI-conversation content for up to 30 days; this differs from the transcription endpoint. See OpenAI API data controls. Data may be processed outside your country. Use fictional details only. AI can make mistakes: this is communication practice, not clinical advice or assessment. Switching to guided practice stops sending dialogue to the AI partner. Consent is requested again before sending after reopening a session.
Advertising, tracking and purchases
This version contains no advertising, tracking SDK, developer-operated analytics, subscriptions or in-app purchases. Apple may process App Store, diagnostics or backup information under your Apple settings and Apple’s own privacy terms. Device backups may include locally saved notebook data depending on your settings.
Your choices
You can practise by typing without granting microphone permission. Change microphone access in your device settings. Export your notebook using the share sheet, or clear it in Wardwise Settings. Exporting sends the contents to the destination you select; that destination’s privacy practices apply. Removing the app removes its local notebook data, subject to device backup behaviour. The private voice access code is stored separately in your device’s secure credential store and is not included in notebook exports. On iOS it may survive reinstalling the app; use Remove voice access in Wardwise Settings to delete it.
Use fictional information
Do not enter real patient details, medical records or other sensitive information. Wardwise is a language-practice tool for adult healthcare professionals, not a clinical record system or medical advice service. It is not directed to children.
Support and this website
If you email support, we receive the email address and information you choose to send, use them to respond and resolve your request, and retain them only as needed for support and applicable legal obligations. Please do not send patient details or recordings containing sensitive information. Visiting this support website is separate from use of the offline app; hosting providers may process standard request data such as IP address for delivery and security.
